Public Health Alerts

The Appalachian District Health Department periodically issues "Public Health Alerts" as part of its on-going effort to protect human health and the environment. "Public Health Alerts" will hopefully increase awareness of possible public health hazards and serve to inform the general public of proper protocol to follow.

Public Health Alerts are sent to the local media outlets for publication. The local radio and TV announcements are a public service to the community and the local media's willingness to immediatly distribute the Health Alerts currently provided by local media sources, is greatly appreciated.

Over time, as "Health Alerts" are addressed by the Health Department and our collabrative partners, they become on-going "Community Health Concerns" and additional updates on these "Red Flag" items are distributed to the public through the Appalachian District's Annual Report which is published in September of every year and available at the health department.
